The Institution for Taxation and Economic Policy
developed the graph to illustrate the impact of the Senate tax cut bill by 2027. Taxes go up for bottom
60 percent. Biggest winners? The richest 1 percent.
PS: Vox reminds me that the tax bill is not unfair only because it benefits the rich while hurting the poor. It will be enabled by cuts in other spending
on the poor, a double whammy.
MEANWHILE: Blogger Pitt Griffin calls 6-foot-5 Sen. Tom Cotton the Senate's biggest liar for claiming
on national TV that all taxpayers will receive a tax cut. Cotton dodged a question on whether he'd vote to expel Roy Moore if he wins election as senator from Alabama.
AND ONE MORE NOTE ON TAX LEGISLATION: Ernest Dumas explains this week
the unfairness of the proposals, the gamesmanship involved and the certainty that the only winners will be corporations and the wealthy.
