The State Police
are investigating an unspecified complaint against Lt. Brant Tosh
of Jonesboro, CID commander for Troop F based in Jonesboro.
State Police spokesman Bill Sadler said he could only confirm the existence of a complaint, related to departmental rules of conduct, filed
Oct. 11, but couldn't discuss an ongoing internal investigation further. He provided this copy
of the complaint. He said the outcome would be made public.
I inquired about the complaint based on a tip from a reliable source who said Tosh had been accused of using a state employee and prison labor (some work-release prisoners are assigned to Troop F headquarters) for personal purposes. I've left a message seeking Tosh's comment.
Tosh is the son of Dwight Tosh,
a retired State Police captain and Republican member of the legislature. Brant Tosh is also a member of the Valley View School Board.
The Jonesboro Sun recently mentioned the existence of this investigation in the course of reporting on another investigation of two other officers in the troop for arresting the wrong person after a vehicle chase, Tosh, who was not involved in the wrongful arrest case, remains on duty as commander of the CID unit in Jonesboro.
