More fresh breezes from Democratic legislative candidates. Adrienne Kvello, a Fayetteville lawyer, will hold a campaign opening event Friday Thursday evening at Apple Blossom Brewery.

She's taking on Republican Rep. Charlie Collins, godfather of the legislation to put more guns on college campuses and in other public places, including courthouses and the Capitol.

Born in Springdale and a Fayetteville High grad, Kvello practices law and also owns a home inspection business with her husband.

Says her web page:

I care about this community and our University. As our representative, Charlie Collins has proven that he doesn’t. He doesn’t care about the University or that its administration, police, students, and most of his constituents were against his guns on campus bill. He doesn’t care about healthcare or public schools. He doesn’t care about our small local businesses, only big corporations. He’s more interested in the people who can get him elected to the next office than taking care of the people who elected him to the one he has.
She notes Collins funneled state money into a private church college in Springdale (now enmeshed in a kickback scandal.)  She says she's a 2nd Amendment supporter who's hunted deer and squirrel, but added:

"I believe there are many common-sense solutions that we can implement to decrease the escalating epidemic of gun violence in our country. Allowing concealed carry on our campuses is not one of them.

Our current representative, Charlie Collins, cares more about the NRA and furthering his future political career than listening to his constituents and the University he purports to represent. I will listen to you and help pass common sense gun measures."

Time to dust off your pink hat and march to Fayetteville for this one.

PS: Just so you'll know. Charlie said he'll go after his challenger on her "liberal agenda."
