hat presents a more nuanced look at a possible explanation for Sessions' action. Maybe senior Justice Department officials will make the decision. Maybe they will conclude what the evidence to date suggests, that an investigation would be just a witch hunt, encouraged by a friend of the Russians badly in need of cover. Maybe Sessions, who vowed not to engage in politics as attorney general, will use them as cover for acting responsibly. Wishful thinking, I know.
