Advocates for Jack Greene,
scheduled to be killed by the state of Arkansas Nov. 9 for a capital murder conviction in Johnson County, say
he will appear before the state Parole Board Wednesday to seek clemency on the ground that he is mentally incompetent. He also has a separate court appeal pending.
The Parole Board makes recommendations to the governor on clemency.
A spokesman for Greene's cause said Greene's petition includes information about childhood poverty and abuse he suffered at a juvenile training school and a family history of mental illness and suicide. Here's the petition.
