have responded in customary fashion to the mass shooting in Las Vegas
— thoughts and prayers for victims,
but little by way of action. One exception of a sort: Gov. Asa Hutchinson
"It’s hard to fathom the horrific shooting in Las Vegas overnight, with more than 50 killed and hundreds more wounded. It was a senseless, murderous act, and my heart and prayers are with the families, as well as the first responders.
“This tragic incident reinforces and accelerates the necessity of effective security plans at major public events."
Security would have done little to prevent the Las Vegas shootings unless it had included metal detectors and room searches at nearby hotels, too.
Noted: Australia hasn't had a mass shooting since a mass shooting there 20 years ago
prompted strict gun controls and buyback or confiscation of 1 million firearms.
I know. I know. Hutchinson, a former spokesman for the NRA, isn't likely to be interested.
But at least he had a specific, if impractical, thought
. Doesn't better security mean MORE guns in Arkansas? Charlie Collins says so.
