The Navy on Monday took delivery of the future USS Little Rock during a ceremony at a Wisconsin shipyard, a major step in progress toward active use.

Little Rock is a littoral combat ship. It is to be commissioned in December in Buffalo. It is undergoing tests on Lake Michigan.

Littoral combat ships can be configured for use in surface waters, mine countermeasures and anti-submarine warfare.
