Billy Lee, the superintendent of the Blevins School District, resigned Monday evening, effective at the end of the 2017-18 school year, KATV reports.

This comes after claims made by parent Bridget McClure that he pulled a gun during an argument about her son being kicked off a school bus for misbehavior.

Rowe Stayton, McClure's attorney, said that his client got onto a bus Lee was driving and argued with him about disciplining her child and then was herself kicked off, according to KATV. She then waited for Lee at the school district office. Once he arrived, Stayton said, McClure confronted Lee and her son threw rocks at his car, says KATV.

McClure claims that Lee then pulled a gun. Lee and his attorney say it was a wallet.

"It's the butt of a pistol in a holster, yes ma'am,” Bridget McClure told KATV. “There's no mistake in that. I know what a wallet looks like, and I know what the butt of a pistol looks like. I mean, I can't tell you what kind of pistol or anything, but as far as weapon wise, you can tell the butt of a pistol sticking out of a holster. There's no mistaking that."

You may remember Blevins School District from when a school board member wore blackface last year on Halloween.
