State revenue collections for August narrowly miss forecast

Arkansas took in less tax revenue than expected in August, missing its forecast for the month by $1.2 million or 0.3 percent — a decline of $10.2 million compared to August last year, or a 2.5 percent decrease. The Department of Finance and Administration posted the figures in its general revenue report for the month

However, the state's year-to-date net available general revenue is still ahead of forecast by 1.1 percent, or $9.3 million. That's due to the stronger than expected revenue intake for July, the first month of the 2018 fiscal year.

Year-to-date net available general revenue is at $860.4 million, a 5.3 percent increase ($43.6 million) over the same point last year.
