A North Little Rock spokesman says a proposed rezoning for a convenience store/gas station at Waterside and North Hills has been delayed for Planning Commission consideration until at least Aug. 8.

A message from Nathan Hamilton said, " It is the applicant’s intention to hold this legislation until a future date. The applicant has heard from many people opposed to the rezoning, and has stated a desire to work on the proposal before bringing it before the Planning Commission."

Norman Clifton, chairman of the Planning Commission, is owner of the property. He has said he wouldn't participate in a decision on the rezoning, which has been hotly opposed by neighbors in the Lakewood subdivision.

The item had been on today's Planning Commission agenda.
