Keepers are now keeping a watchful eye on Agave's sibling, Cactus Jack. Together since birth, the two were bonded and could be seen playing together on exhibit, which is different from their counterparts in the wild that lead solitary lives. Cactus Jack is receiving more enrichment and activities to keep him occupied.
Keeper Kate Barszczowski called Agave one of the sassiest cats she had ever worked with, and also one of the smartest. The cat had a particular knack for swiping her brother's treats, Barszczowski said. In an entire decade of bonding, Barszczowski found early on that Agave took well to training, and even was participating in training sessions during this past weekend despite her illness.
