Trump's hosts were standing by the president and calling Cotton's appearance an opportunity for Republican activists to meet a potential future leader. An Iowa reporter finally wormed a little side-stepping comment out of Cotton (normally sure about EVERYTHING) about the appointment of a special counsel, Robert Mueller, to review the Trump-Russia connections, which are abundant, crime or no crime.
"We are wanting him to get noticed here in Iowa. We're looking at down the road," Pottawattamie County GOP Chairman Jeff Jorgensen said. "We're on board with Trump at this time."
I can't evaluate whether it's a good decision or not, the right decision or not. I don't have all the facts, all the reasoning the deputy attorney general had," he said, although praising Mueller as widely respected. "The deputy attorney general made the decision based on certain facts and analysis that he has access to that we don't have access to in the Congress."I liked this quote about Comey:
"I hope that he will produce memos he is alleged to have written about those exchanges,"
