OLYMPIC ADVISER: Cindy Gillespie
is dipping a toe back into U.S. participation in the Olympics.
Amy Webb, in response to question, said the Los Angeles Olympic Bid Committee
had asked Gillespie to assist in a presentation to the International Olympic Committee
on a bid for the 2024 Olympics because of past Olympic experience She'll participate in that presentation next Wednesday, Webb said.
Gillespie was senior federal relations official for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. She also served advisory committees that sought Olympics for New York in 2012 and Chicago in 2016. The Salt Lake City work introduced her to Mitt Romney
and she later went to work on health issues in Massachusetts when he was governor.
