JUDGE KRISTINE BAKER: Adds day to hering on executions.
Brian Chilson reports from the federal courthouse that the hearing on efforts to stop seven executions
scheduled to begin Monday will last much longer than expected.
A massive filing by the state Friday
and the unavailabiity of a key witness, along with the general complexity of the arguments, apparently prompted Judge Kristine Baker
to add a fourth day to the scheduled three-day hearing. And she reportedly said those last three days could run for 12 hours each day.
Time, obviously, is short.
UPDATE: Plaintiffs introduced testimony today from an anesthesiologist who was dubious about use of midazolam to prevent pain. He had questions about other drugs too
, as a Democrat-Gazette report notes.
