THEY'RE DONE: The House moments before end of this year's legislative session. We hope.
The Senate went into recess this morning shortly before 11:30 a.m. and, if we're lucky, they'll return May 1 and routinely adjourn sine die, with no further business (until inevitable special sessions.)
The House is mopping up, but it, too, should be done soon.
One interesting thing to watch: Does Gov. Asa Hutchinson have some vetoes in mind for the mess of junk produced by this legislature? We could hope. Rep. Kim Hammer withdrew one bill to require monthly financial reports from a variety of executive agencies because of an apparent veto threat.
The legislature began work Jan. 9.
The House wrapped up at 11:50 a.m., save a few personal closing remarks, including a citation by Reps. Vivian Flowers and Rebecca Petty recognizing the "bromance" between Reps. John Walker and Kim Hendren. See below.
