Gun insanity continues in Arkansas. The House today defeated a bill to prohibit gun ownership
by someone convicted of domestic battery
. The vote was 31-46.

for the 31 people in the House who believed wife-beating (or husband-beating) wasn't a recommendation for gun ownership.
I don't know if any in the House who opposed the bill offered the familiar argument I read in a recent Supreme Court decision on a domestic battery case in which the husband said, in essence: "Well, I didn't hit her THAT hard. And, plus, she'd really been disrespecting me."
