The Little Rock police report on Facebook the recovery of a family relic taken in a burglary 10 years ago, a gift to a helicopter pilot killed in the Blackhawk Down incident.

On March 15th the LRPD street narcotics unit recovered a shadow box while executing a search warrant. The shadow box belonged to Donavan Briley, a Blackhawk helicopter pilot from NLR, who was killed in action in 1993 during the Blackhawk Down incident. The shadow box was a gift from Briley’s wife and had been stolen during a break-in approximately ten years ago. With assistance of the Sherwood PD, LRPD detectives were able to locate Briley’s daughter. The Little Rock Police Department is honored that we were able to return this priceless memory to the family of a fallen American hero.
