Hey, Walmart, where's the love for Arkansas?

Arkansas has a governor who's all in for computer education. We have about the lowest workers compensation and unemployment insurance cost in the country. We will open the treasury for handouts of tax money to just about any corporate idea. We've had a right-to-work law for 60 years. Our personal property tax rates are low. Some complain about our income tax rates, but, hey, they are lower than those in California. Little Rock has a shiny new tech park — with a coffee shop, even. Our flagship university is partially owned by the retail giant based in Bentonville.

All this and Walmart announces a new retail tech incubator — IN CALIFORNIA?

Oh well. Maybe we haven't demonstrated sufficient love of guns and dislike for gay people to be a true jobs magnet yet. But, hey, the legislature isn't done yet.

Walmart's new enterprise, currently employing 10, is in San Bruno, otherwise known as part of Silicon Valley.  It is known as Store No. 8, after a Walmart store where the chain experimented with new ideas, and, according to Bloomberg will "identify changes that will reshape the retail experience, including virtual reality, autonomous vehicle and drone delivery and personalized shopping."
