State obtains new execution drugs

by

AP reports that the state has obtained a fresh supply of one of the three drugs used in the lethal injection process.

The replacement for expired potassium chloride means the state has enough drugs on hand to kill eight inmates over 10 days in April, before the supply of another of the three drugs, midazolam, runs out at the end of the month.

Attorneys for the condemned men are still fighting the executions in court.

The state won't say where it obtained the drug.
