Hah. A friend points me to the Zinn Education Project, which continues in the spirit of the late historian Howard Zinn, whose work Rep. Kim Hendren has said should be banned from Arkansas public schools. Hendren filed a bill to ban his work yesterday.

The Zinn Education Project is offering free copies of A People’s History of the United States and people’s history lessons to teachers in Arkansas. We are inspired by the Librotraficante who delivered books to schools in Tucson, Arizona, in defiance of the ethnic studies ban.

The delivery of these books is made possible by donations from individuals.

The website link has a form for those who'd like to get a book.

UPDATE: I'm told by a friend who called the group Monday, March 6, that they'd received 600 requests for the book.
