Here's an odd one from the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway
. It seems that during Tuesday night's storms, many people sought shelter in the safe room of the Vilonia School District.
One was a 20-year-old Conway man wearing a bulletproof vest and carrying two rifle and two handguns. He was arrested. The guns alarmed a lot of the some 300 people seeking shelter, the police chief said. And the vest? A "little odd."
He was released from jail after posting a $2,500 bond. The newspaper doesn't list specific charges. Many contend Arkansas law allows open carry just about anywhere not otherwise prohibited, but schools are supposed to be gun-free except for authorized officers.
