KARK reports that a McClellan High School student was shot in the leg yesterday afternoon while walking home from school after an attempted robbery on the 10000 block of Republic Lane. The student, 16,  is expected to recover.

"When the juvenile didn't comply fast enough, that's when we believe shots were fired," an officer told KARK. Police are searching for the suspect, said to be driving a red vehicle.

Meanwhile, another shooting also occurred yesterday afternoon at a Department of Health parking lot near War Memorial Stadium. The victim was a UAMS pharmacy student, Caleb McClain, who is now recovering at the hospital. Policy believe tht McClain was not the intended target of the shooting.
