Tonight's homicide was a road rage incident that occurred in SW Little Rock. The grandmother was driving the car and was taking her grandson shopping when the incident occurred. We believe she and the victim were completely innocent and they have no relationship with the suspect.It was the second fatal shooting of a young car passenger in less than a month. A two-year-old was killed by shots the struck a car near South Harrison Street on Nov. 22.
We are looking for an older black Chevrolet Impala being driven by a tall B/M. We need the publics help in locating the car and suspect. We must end senseless violence in our city. If you have information please contact Major Crimes at 371-4660. If the vehicle is located call 911.
Ms. King-Macon stated that as she was waiting to turn westbound on to Mabelvale Cutoff, and it was raining very hard at this time. She then heard an older model black Chevrolet Im- pala that pulled up behind her honk his car horn. Ms. King-Macon stated that she began honking her vehicle's horn and continued to wait for the traffic to pass on Mabelvale Cutoff. Ms. King-Macon stated that's when she observed an unknown black male get out of the black Chevrolet impala and fire one (1) gunshot. Ms. King-Macon stated that she believed that the unknown black male fired the gunshot into the air, so she drove to the JC Penny parking lot where she was going to meet other family members to drop off the children. Ms. King- Macon stated that once she arrived at the parking lot she got out of her vehicle and she ob-served a bullet hole in her vehicle. Ms. King-Macon stated that she opened the rear passenger side door and noticed the victim slumped over in the seat and was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital where he later died as a result of his injuries.
