Checking into a potential administrative change at UALR, I learned that Provost Zulma Torro, who is executive vice chancellor, is one of three finalists for president of Central Connecticut State University. The Connecticut Board of Regents is expected to make a decision on that choice Thursday, a UALR spokesman said.

The campus is in New Britain.

Torro was dean of the college of engineering at Wichita State before coming to UALR in 2013. As provost, Torro oversees some 500 faculty members and 12,000 students at UALR as the campus' No. 2 executive.
