State income lags in August

The state report on tax take in August shows a drop against last year and against forecast.

Gross revenue in August was $473.6 million, down .9 percent from last year and 2.2 percent below forecast.

For the first two months of the year, July and August, gross revenues are .4 percent below last year and behind forecast by 2 percent, or $19 million. A dip in sales and use taxes accounts for most of the shortfall.

Here's the full report.
