Jacob Kauffman at NPR takes note
JAMES HALL: GOP candidate faces jail time.
that the state Court of Appeals this week upheld a harassment conviction of Republican James Hall
of Monticello, the candidate for a House seat held by the late Democratic Rep. Sheila Lampkin.
He faces a jail sentence with the court's affirmation of his lower court conviction. LeAnne Burch, a retired Army brigadier general, has been selected by Democrats as the nominee.
Hall is not an ideal candidate, to put it mildly
. The Republicans haven't bothered to field a candidate in the special election for the few months remaining in Lampkin's term. Hall is a write-in.
Kauffman tweets that Hall has no intention of withdrawing from the race. Everyone is out to get him, he says.
