The deadline is Friday to file with the city clerk to be a candidate for Little Rock City Board.

So far, only one certain contested race has emerged, though there's interest in more.

The three at-large seats and one seat, from Ward 4, will be on the ballot. The city clerk this week notified a few people who'd picked up petition packets early that they'd been printed with an erroneous filing deadline of Aug. 22, corrected on most packets that were distributed.

City Clerk Susan Langley provided this report on activity at her office.

Packets Picked-Up & Turned-In:

Ward 4 (incumbent Brad Cazort is not running):

June Matheny
Capi Peck (Turned-In)
Jeff Yates
Christ Corbitt
Roy Brooks
Kathryn Searcy

Position 8:

JoAnn Coleman
Incumbent Dean Kumpuris (Turned-In)

Position 9:

Bernard Hochstetter
Incumbent Gene Fortson (Turned-In)
Clayton Johnson (Turned-In)
Jason Ferguson

Position 10:

Molly Miller
Antwan Phillips
Incumbent Joan Adcock (Turned-In)
UPDATE: Molly Miller, who'd previously announced formally to oppose Joan Adcock says:

Molly Miller, will officially file her Petition of Nomination as a candidate for the Little Rock City Board of Directors, At-Large Position 10. Miller’s petition has well over 100 Little Rock voters, with signers from each of the city’s seven wards. 50 signatures are required for a candidate to file for this office.

Miller’s campaign is based on representing all of Little Rock. Her petition which includes four times as many signatures as required and the diversity of neighborhoods signers live in, demonstrates a unified movement and support for her candidacy.
