Trial begins today in Hot Springs of Circuit Judge Wade Naramore on a negligent homicide charge in the hot car death of his 18-month-old son Thomas last summer.

Drew Petrimoulx of our news partner KARK is sending a stream of Tweets from the proceedings. A jury is to be chosen today and the special judge in the case, John Langston, is also considering a variety of motions. He won't allow testimony about lost video that showed Naramore's car parked outside the courthouse in the morning, when the child was left inside when he went to work, forgetting the child. He realized his error returning to work from lunch on a hot July day. More KARK coverage here.

The judge also is holding in abeyance rulings on allowing jurors to see photos of the dead child and the precise nature of jury instructions on the charge.

Naramore has been suspended from his duties handling juvenile cases while the charge pends.

Questioning of potential jurors continued into the afternoon. Many were familiar with the case and some who'd formed opinions were dismissed.

UPDATE: Late today a jury was seated — six men and six women.
