The Greenwood police department announced on Facebook this morning the recovery of Kina, a police dog missing after taking fire Wednesday in the fatal encounter near Hackett in which Sebastian County Deputy Bill Cooper was killed.

The dog had two bullet wounds and is being treated. An early vet's report:

X-rays show some bullet fragments in Kina. He said two inches lower on one shot she would not be here. She is dehydrated and about to receive fluids. We will advise should something change.
Billy Jones is in custody for the slaying of Cooper and wounding of Hackett Police Chief Darrell Spells. They'd gone to Jones' home because of a call from his father. Jones was due in court that day on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a narcotic.
