KATV is reporting that a man who was one of four suspects taken into custody after a Faulkner County SWAT team drug bust this morning had a heart attack at the scene and died.

The SWAT team was searching a house on Hwy. 365 near Lawrence Landing outside Mayflower when the suspect, 50, suffered the heart attack. Prosecutor Cody Hiland said a member of the SWAT team was a heart surgeon and assisted, but the suspect died, KATV reports.

The police found methamphetamine at the location.

We've got a call into Hiland for more details and to ask about the heart surgeon/SWAT team member.

UPDATE:
The Faulkner County Sheriff's Office does not release names of people on tactical teams, Sheriff's Deputy Adam Bledsoe said. The physician has been with the MEMS Star Team, tactical paramedics, for 14 years.

In a news release issued later this morning, Bledsoe said that $4,500 in case, 14 8 grams of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were seized from the resident. Two of the suspects are being charged. (The sheriff's office made the correction on the amount of methamphetamine seized.)

Bledsoe said the MEMS Star team is made up of tactical paramedics and physicians that help law enforcement agencies at all levels statewide.
