Jason Rapert makes friends and influences people at Republican National Convention

The intra-party Republican civil war over Donald Trump has been somewhat muted in Arkansas, where state lawmakers mostly flocked to Cleveland to back Trump (and where Sen. Tom Cotton is doing his best to avoid having to take sides in the squabble).

Rep. Bob Ballinger, chair of Ted Cruz's Arkansas campaign, is defending the Cruz rebellion while Cotton's political operative, former state rep John Burris, says Cruz is "too cute" and "too sneaky" and "just wanted the attention he thinks he deserves."

I know what you're wondering: What Would Jason Do?

Sen. Jason Rapert, who previously supported Mike Huckabee and then Cruz, is now all aboard the Trump train. "[W]e MUST now support Trump," he stated on social media, and re-tweeted a message that Cruz had destroyed his career by refusing to endorse Trump.

A national reporter captured a snippet of footage of an argument over the Cruz speech between a #NeverTrump delegate from Colorado and a Trumpista delegate from Arkansas. Guess who?
