The notice from Entergy that just circulated on Twitter wasn't received happily in my dark, un-airconditioned house in the heart of Hillcrest (within sight of many houses with lights on).

Tuesday?!?

The slow progress of restoring power service has prompted the city to open two "cooling centers."

The Dunbar and Southwest community centers will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday to provide respite from hot homes.

The city urged residents to call 311 with reports of downed trees or power lines or other debris.
