The Walton Family Foundation
has made a $2 million grant to the Economics Arkansas Foundation
for its aim to train teachers and reach students grades pre-K through 12.
The foundation hopes to raise $8 million to eventually train 2,000 teachers a year.
The objectives are 1) to train more teachers and reach more students and find a way to measure the return on that investment; 2) advance economic and financial literacy (there's currently no comprehensive financial literacy requirement across all grades in public schools), and 3) ensure the future for the Economics Arkansas program.
