in Minnesota, is sure to add to national controversy
about police use of force, particularly against black suspects.
A black man, Philando Castle, stopped for a broken tail light, was shot while reaching for his wallet and driver's license. He'd told the cop from St. Anthony, a Minneapolis suburb, moments before that he had a permitted concealed weapon. He was shot multiple times. The dead man's girlfriend, who was in the car with a child, broadcast the aftermath live on Facebook, including her handcuffing and placement in the rear of a patrol car. By early accounts, he was a steady employee of a local school district without a criminal record.
