Another judge, this one in Kansas, has ruled that a state may not cut off Medicaid
funds to Planned Parenthood
simply because that state's politicians don't approve of the fact that Planned Parenthood provides abortions (unfunded by public dollars).
Arkansas is so far losing a lawsuit over a similar law to punish Planned Parenthood. Such laws have now been blocked in six states, but Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge has vowed to keep fighting, dishonestly calling it somehow helping women by making it harder for them to get routine medical exams and screening for cancer and the like.
It's essentially a First Amendment offense: Punishing a provider of medical services for free expression in providing a legal service that the controlling authority doesn't like. It's also a religious establishment essentailly — attempting to enforce a religious view against abortion by means of financial coercion.
