Curt Lanning at KARK reports that one of the groups circulating a medical marijuna initiative plans to turn in some 110,000 signatures Monday to qualify their measure for the ballot.

KARK quotes Melissa Fults, leading Arkansans for Compassionate care, which is pushing an initiated act to legalize marijuana for medical use. Her proposal, unlike another measure circulating, would allow people to grow small quantities of marijuana.

The secretary of state must verify 67,887 signatures of registered voters for the petition to make the ballot. Another medical marijuana measure, a constitutional amendment, will need more signatures as willl a measure that legalize pot for simple enjoyment as well.
