After I posted an article yesterday
about Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr's
desire for a $40 million Capitol view edifice for his office, a reader sent along a photo that shows the commissioner is already outfitted with a car and vanity plate worthy of the building and new parking lot.
To date Gov. Asa Hutchinson
has been resisting Kerr's empire building, which includes $250,000 for art work, in a preliminary construction budget. On the other hand, that art work outlay might appeal to Hutchinson, who ran up the decorator's bill back
when he was head of the federal Transportation Safety Administration.
TSA, under the leadership of Asa Hutchinson, spent approximately $500,000 on artwork and silk plants for a 79-person TSA operations center. The operations center included “a 4,200 square-foot fitness center with a towel laundry service for the 79 federal employees located there.”
Don't anybody tell Allen Kerr about this.
