LITTLE ROCK – On Monday, May 9th, Molly Miller announced her first official campaign event – a launch party to be held at U.S. Pizza Hillcrest on June 1st from 5-7 p.m. This event will serve as a meet-and-greet as well as the first fundraiser for Miller’s campaign for At-Large City Director, Position 10.(No, it's not merely Miller's solid progressive credentials that draw my attention, though they'd be a welcome breath of fresh air on the City Board.)
Miller describes herself as a pro-growth progressive and intends to promote policies that will help Little Rock become a strong city, including a more equitable distribution of resources throughout the city, investment in a stronger public transportation system, and economic development in areas that have traditionally been left behind when it comes to economic opportunity. Additionally, Miller is an advocate for returning the Little Rock School District to local control and the development of alternatives to the AHTD’s current proposals for the expansion of I-30.
Miller has already begun work to develop a strong coalition of supporters throughout Little Rock, including Rett Tucker and Jimmy Moses of Moses Tucker Realty, Senator Joyce Elliott, Representative Clarke Tucker, Former Representative John Charles Edwards, and local advocates for a variety of issues including a more bike-friendly Little Rock, improved development at the neighborhood level, and policies that support the LGBT community, among others.
Miller invites anyone who is interested in learning more about her campaign to attend this event, ask questions, and learn more about her campaign. Miller can be reached via e-mail, phone, Facebook (www.facebook.com/miller4citydirector), or her website (www.mollymiller4lr.com).
