The Garland County sheriff’s office has announced an arrest in the death in Hot Springs of a woman killed when a camper that had been rammed by a truck rolled over on her tent.
Gina Thomas, 44, was killed.
James Lingo, 29, was charged Tuesday with first-degree murder and related charges. The sheriff’s office said in a news release that information led them to Lingo’s home. They found a white Chevy pickup registered to Lingo and learned from a witness that Lingo had changed out tires and wheels and cleaned up the front of the truck and removed an LED light bar from the truck. Investigators found the light bar, tires and rims hidden in bushes not far from Lingo’s home.
The crime occurred early Tuesday in the 2700 block of East Grand Avenue. The sheriff’s had said previously that there’d been an argument between people parked in a camper there and somebody in a pickup. The pickup later returned and rammed the camper, which overturned and killed Thomas, in a tent nearby.
