A woman in a tent in Hot Springs was killed early today when a truck rammed a nearby  camper that rolled over on the tent. This followed an altercation between campers and two people in a truck.

The Garland County sheriff's office said:

On Tuesday May 10, 2016 at approximately 12:10 A.M. the Garland County Sheriff’s Department, the Arkansas State Police and Hot Springs Police Department responded to a call of a traffic accident in the 2700 block of East Grand Avenue.

Upon arrival, law enforcement encountered a white male who stated that he was camping in a wooded area along with a white female. The male also stated that a truck drove through the area occupied by two unknown persons. A verbal altercation took place and the truck drove away.

A short time later, the same truck came back and rammed the back of the camper’s vehicle causing it to  roll over the tent which was occupied by the female camper. The female camper was killed in the incident and the driver of the truck left the area.

Investigators arrived on scene and found evidence that the vehicle was in fact rammed from the rear.
