Feds announce 25-year sentence in child sex case

U.S. Attorney Chris Thyer has announced that Larry Wayne Wilder,  28, of Maumelle, had pleaded guilty and received a 25-year prison sentence for attempted enticement of a minor to engage in a sex act and production of child pornography.

The case began last August, when the FBI received a tip that an adult male was having inappropriate communications with minors on social media. Law officers took over one of the accounts and arranged a meeting at a park for sex. Wilder was arrested when he arrived.

The U.S. attorney's office said Wilder later admitted to lying about his age on social media to facilitate conversations with minors. He admitted to meeting boys and girls younger than 18 to have sex and could not recall how many he had met for sex. He admitted paying money for sex acts and having child pornography in his home.  His phone contained videos and images of child pornography and conversations seeking explicit pictures. He threatened to expose on the Internet a child who'd refused to send explicit pictures.  The news release identified Wilder as a former manager of Twin Peaks.
