Correct the Record, the super PAC working to elect Hillary Clinton as president, has underway a biographical reintroduction of the candidate to counteract the familiar opposition narratives. "Let's Talk Hillary" includes, for example, this YouTube video of a Pine Bluff woman praising Clinton's role in the establishment of the HIPPY program to help mothers prepare children for school.
My own nagging thought: If, as seems likely now, Clinton is the Democratic nominee, she'll of course have my support against Donald Trump or, God save these United States, Ted Cruz. But I have doubts about the resonance of a resume and programmatic ideas in the current political climate. It is the year of the PO'ed. Is an extensive record of long involvement in government programs, including some successful ones, a plus? Once, you might have thought so. Today, I'm not so sure.
