Finalists named in UALR chancellor search

The University of Arkansas System has announced the three finalists in the search for a successor to Joel Anderson as chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Chosen by System President Donald Bobbitt in consultation with a search committee, they are (all Ph.D.s):

LOVELL
  • LOVELL
* Cheryl Lovell, special advisor to the chancellor and to the chief academic officer of the Colorado State University System

* Andrew Rogerson, provost and vice president of academic affairs, Sonoma State (California State University System)

* Mark Rudin, vice president for research and economic development, Boise State University

They'll visit campus and the city May 9-13. Anderson steps down in June after 13 years as  chancellor and many more years at the campus.

Bobbitt will pick a finalist to recommend to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees.

Lovell has been working in college administration since the 1980s, including in 1984-86 as a coordinator of family life and conferences at the University of Arkansas. 

Rogerson, after 24 years teaching biology, moved into administration in 2006 as a dean at the College of Science at Marshall University.

Rudin has continued to teach in his specialty of health physics while leading a research and economic development division at Boise State.
