The Arkansas House Democratic Caucus
may be down in numbers, but it is not out entirely.
Caucus Leader Rep. Michael John Gray
announced the first Miller Mahony Dinner
April 27 in Little Rock, with a keynote speech by former legislator, White House aide and business executive Mack McLarty.
It will be the first Miller Mahony Dinner, named for former long-term legislators John Miller and Jodie Mahony. The event is aimed at building support for Democratic candidates in 2016. Democrats aren't a threat to regain a majority in the House, but they have some hopes that candidates in targeted races could cut the Republicans' current 63-36 advantage (the one independent, Nate Bell, is functionally a Republican, too).
