University of Arkansas rids itself of ISIS

The Traveler newspaper at the University of Arkansas reports that the Fayetteville campus has completed a planned name change in a computerized student information service whose name was an acronym shared by a notorious group.

Officials changed the Integrated Student Information System’s name to UAConnect today, according to a press release.

“While the name has changed, the look, functionality and information contained in your Student Center remains the same,” according to the press release.

UAConnect allows students to log in with their UARK Central Login instead of a separate account, according to the press release.

This is another change from ISIS, according to a press release. Previously, when students logged in to ISIS, they had to do so with an ISIS account, which was separate from their UARK account.

No one need confuse Fayetteville with the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria any longer.
