Public Policy Polling did a holiday-themed poll
— for fun, mostly — and the findings include that Hillary Clinton
won the popularity contest for which presidential candidate would be most welcome at Thanksgiving dinner. Splintered voting, it's true, with Hillary leading with 24 percent. She finished a distant second behind Donald Trump 46-22 as guest most likely to say something inappropriate and ruin dinner.
The most telling question was the partisan breakdown on approval of President Obama's decision last year to "pardon" two, rather than one, turkey in the annual White House Thanksgiving ritual. Overall, only 35 percent favored a double pardon. Among Republicans, it was a paltry 11 percent. Republican politicians figured this out long ago. You can NOT go wrong being against Obama.
As for the 17 percent who'd choose Donald Trump as a Thanksgiving guest.......
