The Ethics Commission
has sent a letter to Susan Over of White Hall saying that it will investigate her complaint that Jason Brady,
now deputy chief of staff to Treasurer Dennis Milligan
, had violated ethical rules in his campaign work for Milligan in 2014.
Heres the Ethics Commission notice to Over.
The Commission will review, among others, whether Brady improperly failed to close work and expenses for Milligan on his lobbyist report as a lobbyist for the American Cancer Society Action Network, his regular employer then.
It will also review whether Brady conspired with Milligan to keep his campaign work off Milligan's own campaign finance reports. It has been previously alleged that social media expenditures and reimbursement by and to Brady were reported in the name of others so Brady wouldn't be linked with the campaign.
A possible area of inquiry may be whether Brady's in-kind work for the campaign amounted to contributions in excess of allowable individual contribution limits.
