At approximately 5:45 PM State Troopers in northwest Arkansas were alerted to reports from the public of a red Jeep Wrangler traveling east along Highway 62 near Green Forest being driven in a reckless and careless manner. Reports also included a call that the driver had been seen brandishing a gun and fired at a passing motorist.
A short time later State Troopers spotted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Case initially refused to comply and fled from the troopers.
As the suspect vehicle neared Dryfork, Case stopped the vehicle, exited with a gun and began firing at State Troopers and a Madison County sheriff’s deputy who had arrived to back-up the troopers during the traffic stop.
Following an exchange of gunfire with the officers, Case surrendered and was taken into custody. He was transported to the Carroll County Jail.
