UA Board plans chancellor trip


A majority of members of the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees will travel Wednesday  to Lawrence, Kan., and Columbus, O., as part of the board's deliberation of candidates for chancellor of the Fayetteville campus of UA. They will meet at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Kansas and at 12:30 in Ohio. They are to meet in executive session in Little Rock Thursday morning, but an announcement of the meeting said no formal action is expected.

The three finalists include Dr. Jeffrey Vitter, provost of the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and Dr. Joseph Steinmetz, provost of Ohio State in Columbus.

Also: April Mason, provost at Kansas State University, will speak at a public forum at 10:30 a.m Wednesday at the Faulkner Center for Performing Arts at UA. She's the third finalist.
