A mental evaluation has determined that boxer Jermain Taylor
is fit to stand trial on a battery charge, KARK reports.
Notes on the record indicate a bond of $25,000 was set and a jury trial scheduled Dec. 3.
Taylor had earlier entered a plea of innocent in by reason of mental defect, but he didn't object today's finding. Taylor has had a series of incidents, from a shooting at his home, to a conflict at the Martin Luther King Day parade to an alleged assault of another man at a rehab center, the source of this particular charge.
Taylor was cleared to go to a training camp in Florida. Sad news. He doesn't need to box any more.
